How to use the online tuner
- Open the tuner and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
- Play one note or string clearly, then watch the detected note and cents meter.
- Tune slowly until the pitch is centred instead of chasing every tiny vibration.
- Use reference tones or adjust A4 if your ensemble uses a different tuning standard.

Standard guitar tuning, from the thickest string (6) to the thinnest (1), at A4 = 440 Hz. Choose Guitar in the tuner and it shows which of these strings you are nearest to.

Online tuner tips
- Use a quiet room: background noise and sympathetic string vibration make any microphone tuner less stable.
- Tune up to pitch: if a string is sharp, loosen below the note and tighten back up for better tuning stability.
- Check after playing: tune again after bends, heavy strumming, capo changes, or temperature changes.
