Why practise with drums instead of a click?
A click tells you where the beat is. A drum groove also tells you how the music feels: where the backbeat lands, whether the eighths swing, and when a phrase ends. Practising with a groove trains the thing a band will ask of you, which is to sit in the pocket with a drummer.
How to use these drum beats
Pick a style, then set the tempo with the slider, the plus and minus buttons, or by typing a number. Press Play or the space bar. The beat counts you in with one bar of clicks and then keeps going until you stop it. Fills mark the end of every four or eight bars so you always know where you are in the form.
