Free Synchronized Group Metronome for Bands and Music Lessons

Create a free shared metronome for band rehearsal, music lessons or remote practice. Invite musicians by link and start together with one tempo and count-in.

Practice Circles give a band, class, ensemble, or remote practice group one shared musical timeline. The leader controls tempo, meter, count-in, start, and stop while each browser schedules its own click locally.

What this tool includes

Share one musical timeline

Tempo, meter, beat, and bar changes are scheduled for the whole circle instead of sent as immediate button presses.

Hear local browser audio

Each device generates its own click against the shared timeline, avoiding streamed-click buffering.

Start together

A synchronized two-bar count-in gives every musician time to get ready before bar one.

Keep session notes nearby

Use the private circle to record the passage, target tempo, or exercise the group is practising.

Join without an account

An invited musician follows the private link, enters a name, and joins the shared metronome directly.

How to use this tool

  1. Create a Practice Circle and choose the starting tempo and meter.
  2. Send the private join link or six-character code to the other musicians.
  3. Ask everyone to enable sound and check their connection status.
  4. Start the shared two-bar count-in.
  5. Schedule tempo, meter, or stop changes on a bar boundary.

Practice tips

  • Use device speakers or wired headphones when output timing matters; Bluetooth delay varies by device.
  • Practice Circles synchronize the metronome timeline, not live instrument audio over the internet.
  • Use the device timing adjustment only when one device consistently sounds early or late.
